SDD Global Solutions is far beyond the typical LPO (legal process outsourcing) or legal services KPO (knowledge process offshoring) company. Because of the uniquely high-end nature of our work, in many ways (not including price), we are the equivalent of a global law firm. We are also the only legal services provider in India that is managed by a U.S. law firm. Founded by Smith Dornan Dehn, the New York-based experts in media and intellectual property law, we chose Mysore, India as an ideal business location that is away from India's congested and increasingly costly major cities, but near to major universities that provide a steady supply of enthusiastic talent. With an influx of Fortune 100 clients and accompanying revenues and investments, we have moved into our own 330-employee building and are in the process of hiring 200 new, high-quality recruits.

We have comprehensive funding from SFP Priority Co. Ltd., a member of the the SFP Group, a large Asia-based investor. We also have funding from investors from Cisco Systems, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, and Barclays Capital. We are approved by the Government of India (STPI) as an IT-Enabled Services company, and we have the additional support of a large debt facility from State Bank of India, the country’s largest and oldest public sector bank.

At our Mysore headquarters, we are handling some of the most high-profile media, entertainment, and intellectual property litigations and other matters in the West, for a "who's who" of leading motion picture studios, television companies, retail brands, publishing houses, and manufacturers, as well as processing visas for actors, directors, producers, and other professionals needed by our U.S. clients. We provide professional solutions, by leveraging information technology and a high-quality workforce for clients worldwide. SDD Global is solving one of the most pressing problems of today's businesses, namely, the inefficiencies of having legal work done in locations that often are among the most expensive, and the least productive.

Our plan is to expand to 6500 employees within the next several years, but eventually we expect to expand to as many as 50,000 employees or more. We intend to lead a paradigm shift in the world of legal services.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL APPLICANTS:

  • University Degree

PARTICULAR NEEDS:

  • U.S.-LICENSED CORPORATE ATTORNEYS: We are looking for entrepreneurial-minded corporate lawyers who are interested in moving beyond their desk jobs and expanding their horizons to help us take the lead in the offshoring of corporate legal services for Fortune 500 clients and others. Positions will involve travel to India and other countries, and recruitment, training, management, and marketing of overseas attorneys. Must be skilled and experienced in such areas as commercial and financial transactions, stock/asset purchase agreements, stock options, employment agreements, commercial leases, licensing agreements, and corporate due diligence requirements.

  • U.S.-LICENSED IMMIGRATION ATTORNEYS: We need self-starting immigration attorneys who want to help develop the U.S. immigration services powerhouse that will revolutionize cost, efficiency, speed, and results of immigration processing for immigrants and the employers who need them. (Currently, we assist U.S. attorneys in the processing of petitions and applications of software engineers, actors, producers and other professionals seeking to work in the IT, entertainment, media, and other industries.) You must have proven entrepreneurial skills, combined with a history of creative problem-solving in immigration law. Positions will involve travel to India and other countries, and recruitment, training, management, and marketing of overseas attorneys. Must have at least 5 years of experience in managing and marketing a U.S. immigration law practice, and be able to oversee the handling of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications, legal research and training, written memoranda and articles, and case management projects

  • U.S.-LICENSED LITIGATORS: We are recruiting seasoned, entrepreneurial-minded litigators in the U.S. who want to expand their horizons to help us take the lead in the offshoring of high-end litigation work for Fortune 500 clients and others. Positions will involve travel to India and other countries, and recruitment, training, management, and marketing of overseas attorneys. Must be skilled and experienced in all facets of State and Federal trial and pre-trial litigation. Must have at least 5 years of experience in managing and marketing a litigation practice in the U.S.

  • LITIGATION SUPPORT ATTORNEYS: We need law graduates and attorneys to handle legal research and drafting for prominent U.S. and British corporations and individuals in the areas of intellectual property, media defense, entertainment law, and commercial litigation. Extensive experience in doing this work is a strong plus, but not essential. An excellent ability to write and speak in English, a positive attitude, and an eagerness not only to learn, but also to excel, are however, absolute musts.
    Excellent legal research and analytical skills are also essential.

  • CONTRACT LAW ATTORNEYS:  We need law graduates and attorneys to review and draft commercial and other contracts for U.S. and British corporations and individuals.  Experience in doing such contract work, at least for Indian companies and individuals, is a must.  Experience with U.S. and U.K. contracts is even better.  An excellent ability to write and speak in English, a positive attitude, and an eagerness not only to learn, but also to excel, are however, absolute musts.  Excellent legal analytical skills are also essential.

  • IP REGISTRATION SPECIALISTS: We are looking for attorneys already well-trained and experienced in copyright and trademark registration and docketing tasks, to work in our IP department on behalf of media, entertainment and other companies, including members of the Fortune 100. Experience and training in registration and docketing matters is a plus, but we are willing and ready to send excellent recruits to New York for temporary on-site training.

  • IPR ENFORCEMENT MANAGERS AND INVESTIGATORS: We are looking for stellar law and other university graduates who have had at least two years of successful experience in managing and enforcing intellectual property rights in India, to work in our IPR department for some of the most well-known retail brands in the world, including U.S.-based Fortune 100 companies. You must be self-motivated, with experience in creative problem-solving and working well with superiors and subordinates. You must be organized, responsible, and detail-oriented. Excellent written and spoken English skills are a must.

  • HEAD OF IMMIGRATION LEGAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT: We are looking for an experienced head of a legal department, to take charge of our immigration services for prominent actors, producers and other professionals seeking to enter the U.S. and the U.K. to work for our entertainment, media, and other clients. You must be self-motivated, with a history of creative problem-solving for legal departments. Superior high-tech research and writing skills required. Must have at least 5 years management experience in a law office, and be able to make an immediate contribution to our team, overseeing drafting of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions/applications, legal research and training, written memoranda and articles, and case management projects. Must have excellent academic credentials and professional recommendations. Marketing experience a plus. Minimum of a law degree from recognized university required (master's degree preferred). Business degree a plus.

  • IMMIGRATION LEGAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATES: We need highly motivated and experienced legal researchers for immigration processing on behalf of prominent actors, producers and other professionals seeking to enter the U.S. and the U.K. to work for our entertainment, media, and other clients. Will be responsible for significant research, and must be able to analyze complex issues. Reporting to U.S. and/or U.K. attorneys, you would also help develop and manage web-based content. Will require intake, strategy, research, web-page management and working in conjunction with other legal associates. Must be adept at navigating the immigration legal morass, finding sites, analyzing legal issues and proposing decisions. Excellent writing skills, and knowledge of legislative process a plus. Minimum of a law degree from a respected university required (master's degree preferred).

  • IMMIGRATION LAW ASSOCIATES: We are hiring immigration law associates to process data for government forms, research and write visa petitions, motions and briefs, as well as communicating with clients when necessary, in connection with immigration processing for prominent actors, producers and other professionals seeking to enter the U.S. and the U.K. to work for our entertainment, media, and other clients. You must be able to interact electronically with Western clients and employers, family members, or other witnesses. You must be able to research laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses. You may need to supervise and coordinate activities of subordinate legal personnel. You must be proficient in writing and speaking, reading, researching, analyzing, and thinking logically. Superior academic credentials, excellent verbal, written, and professional communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. You must be organized, responsible, and detail-oriented. You must be able to handle high volume and multi-task various cases. You may supervise various data processors or administrative staff. Minimum of law degree from respected university (master's degree preferred).

  • ACCOUNTS MANAGERS: We need experienced accounts managers to manage the books of U.S. law firms and other companies, including expenses, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, etc. In addition to a university degree, candidates must have substantial experience in managing accounting functions such as finalization of books of accounts, preparation of quarterly reports to both state and federal agencies, as well as statutory and regulatory bodies, etc., and a good working knowledge of U.S. bookkeeping methods and the latest software.

  • HR OFFICERS AND MANAGERS: We are looking for stellar university post graduates who have substantial successful experience as an HR Manager or HR Officer for one or more MNCs in the LPO, BPO,and KPO sectors, to perform all of the usual HR duties for a large company in India. Good command over all legal requirements, PF and ESI regulations/requirements, understanding of processes and procedures to file various regulatory and statutory filings with appropriate bodies, etc., are a must.

  • SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATORS: We need experienced systems/network administrators who can handle hundreds of state-of-the-art workstations and multiple networks. Must be totally proficient with Linux and Cisco Systems networking (RHCE and CCNA/CCNP). Also should have hands-on experience with SAMBA, mail softwares, IP-tables, VPN, routing, monitoring tools, RAID, firewall administration, V-Ian, and state-of-the-art security systems. Candidates should be willing to work on shifts as needed. Need to have an engineering degree (3 years or above).

  • WEBMASTERS: We are seeking webmasters familiar with cutting edge technology to develop interactive web-based legal services, including daily content updates, subscription service, web-log or message board management, links to daily news services, web trawlers, search engine maximization and a creative, problem-solving approach to increased traffic.

  • ENGLISH EDITORS/WRITERS/TEACHERS: We need post graduates in English with absolutely first-rate English writing, editing and teaching skills to write and edit various business materials, and work with Indian professionals to improve their English writing on behalf of Fortune 100 and other Western MNCs. Candidates with at least an year's experience preferred.

  • DATA PROCESSORS: We need university graduates with excellent English writing, typing and speaking skills to input accounting data, process U.S. and U.K. visa applications, handle claims of medical patients against insurance companies, transcribe documents, and perform other functions involving data processing.

  • DOCUMENT MANAGERS/CODERS: We are seeking university graduates with substantial successful experience in handling document management and coding in large litigations for major U.S. or U.K. law firms.
